Intermedia is an event-based programme that explores possibilities of counterpointing film, audio, visuals, and performative elements. We hope to invite practitioners interested in the refinement of their practice by challenging and exploring the possibilities in layering various mediums via architecture (metaverse), AR, VR, and live broadcasting.

About the Screening
MSYAWPTG is… a vampiric playpen. An ethereal tribute to the accumulative yet negligible energy of pop-ups, the aim (for now) is to manifest something that extends a recognisably over/under-stimulated mode of bEiNg. The sense of mutability which laces this project is hopefully amplified by the raw materials we haphazardly projected with at Aliwal back in February. Content Warning: The screening features scenes of violence & body horror.

Chong Lii’s work aims to explore the possibility of merging or levelling disparate spaces, objects, people, and images. Permeable frames of history and ontology are set against the spectacle of fiction, re-articulating the sociopolitical tensions from which these elements arise.
Singaporean millennial fantasies, accidental occult tributes in digital media and imagined historical subcultures are among the subjects filtered through an idiosyncratic gaze that supports and undermines them in equal measure.
Operating alongside strategies of complicity and dissent, his installations and films simultaneously counter and revel within the apparatus of the moving image.
