Sharing on 3D rendering

Painter by training, Martin transitioned to working in the digital space. He has a unique perspective on computers, viewing them as boxes that impersonates other media, such as digital painting, digital film editing, and digital sculpting.

In our conversation, Martin explains how he uses 3D rendering to model exactly what he wants to paint. He also digitally composites scenes in movies and creates expressive tableaus by combining found footage with 3D comp renders. It is through these work that reminds us that digital art has a materiality, which is often easy to forget.
